Besma Maraoui from The Pioneer Prep School/Monastir is Selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert Recognized as global leader in using technology to transform education

12th  November-Monastir Pioneer Prep School
Besma MARAOUI was announced today as a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert joining the more than 5,600 educators in the MIE program worldwide. Each year, Microsoft selects innovative educator experts to share ideas, try new approaches and learn from each other through a global community dedicated to improving student outcomes through technology.
Besma Maraoui: “ I’m really thrilled to learn that I was singled out as an MIE Expert. This recognition by a corporation such as Microsoft is a great honor and a boost to make more efforts to improve my techniques of teaching through learning more about Microsoft software and using them to make a difference. Being an MIE Expert gives me the opportunity to share my experience with other experts throughout the world and to train other teachers on using Microsoft software.”
The school administration also recognized our efforts and congratulated us through publishing the certificate on the school facebook page.
As an MIE Expert, educators build their capacity for using technology in both the classroom and curriculum to improve student learning, advise Microsoft and educational institutions on how to integrate technology in pedagogically sound ways and be an advocate at conferences, events and trainings for how Microsoft technology can improve learning.
“Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts are inspiring examples of educators applying new ways of teaching and learning in their classrooms that motivate students and empower them to achieve more,” said Anthony Salcito, vice president, Worldwide Education, Microsoft. “We celebrate and support the work they do every day!”
To learn more about the MIE Expert program you can find out more here. If you are an educator and interested in joining the MIE Expert program self-nominations will open in April 2016. We invite you to also join our Microsoft Educator Community where you can learn and grow professionally, exchange ideas and learn from others, and make connections globally and earn recognition.

Advice to parents

Parents, supervise your children!

        1.     When they want to download a file/game:
·         First you should tell your child when he/she wants to download something, he/she should ask for permission!
·         Then check if the site you're going to download from is secured and the size is sufficient

·         Second and after installing it scan it with you antivirus

            ·         If the file is not secured, this icon will appear in the downloading bar
  • So you should discard it and try another site.
 2.   When they want to surf the internet:
       ·         Don't let them visit insecure sites that bring viruses

          ·         Don't let them press the cookies that appear on the screen

This is the way to keep children safe while surfing the net

Advice to children

I am a child. What should I do to stay safe online?

·         I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, and parents.
·         I will tell my parents right away if I come across something that makes me feel uncomfortable

  •  I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do, I will tell my parents right away.

·         I will not give out my passwords to anyone (even my best friend) other than my parents.

·         I will check with my parents before downloading or installing software or doing anything that could possibly hurt our computer or mobile device or jeopardize my family privacy.
·         I will help my parents understand how to have fun and learn things online and teach them things about the Internet, computers and other technology
